Introduction: This October we invite you to a wonderfully spooky evening in History Park, San Jose. Join the mad scientists, Victorians, Steampunk time travelers, grave diggers, ghosts, ghouls, and vampires as we wander through the park where the veil between this life and the next is stretched thin for an adult only evening of dance and fun at History Park at Kelly Park in San Jose. History Park is indoor/outdoor museum park in the spirit of the turn of the 20th century. The grounds With 27 original and reproduction homes, businesses and landmarks highlights Santa Clara Valley’s past.

O’Brien’s Candy Store for adult beverages and soft drinks

A photographer on site to capture your best dead appearance.

Bangers and Mash will provide live music beneath the 1880’s San Jose 115 foot Electric Light Tower for the evening ball. The Ball will culminate in a costume contest. Even if you don’t wish to enter the contest you can vote!

Steampunk, Victorian hoopskirt through late bustle, Edwardian, Necromancers, Mad Scientists, Reanimated, Ghosts, Grave Diggers, Professional Mourners, Mourning, Vaqueros, Chinese workers, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea characters, Georges Melies characters, Oddities show performers, Doctor Who’s Weeping Angels, Pony Express riders, Buffalo Soldiers, Gold miners, Visiting Ambassadors from far away lands from the 19th century, Native Americans in traditional costume, Civil War soldiers, vampires, ghouls. Spooky without being slasher gore.

Menu: Beverages will be available through drink ticket purchases at the gate. You must have your ID checked and wear the wrist band to purchase tickets. Food will be available on site for purchase. Bring CASH to make your life simpler!

Children: This is an adult only event.

Practicalities: The weather could be variable, a jacket may be a good piece for your costume. Dancing may make your thirsty, please remain hydrated and please don’t drink and drive. Tours of the grounds will provide opportunities for photos. In addition, a professional photographer will be onsite.

From the East Bay:
Take 680 south to 280 north
Take the 11th Street exit toward 10th Street.
Turn left on South 10th Street.
Turn left on Keyes St.
Turn right on Senter Road.
Turn left on Phelan Ave.

From the South Bay:
Find your way to History Park.

From the North Bay:
Take 280 South to San Jose.
Take the 10th Street exit.
Turn right on South 10th Street
Turn left on Keyes St.
Turn right on Senter Road.
Turn left on Phelan Ave.

Parking in the city lots near the park is included in the ticket price!

Ticket sales for this event are now closed.

You must be a GBACG member* to receive the member price. (*Or a member of one of our Sister Organizations: Costumer's Guild West, Art Deco Society of California or Somewhere in Time, Unlimited.) If you are a member and are purchasing several tickets for yourself and friends who are not members, then only you are entitled to the member price. You must pay the non-member price for your friends.

Tickets to GBACG activities are not refundable, but are transferable. If you've purchased tickets to a GBACG activity and are unable to attend, you may sell your tickets to someone else, but GBACG does not make refunds.
