Fun with your Bodice: Fabric, Form and Fit

Aug 27, 2017, 10am - 4pm
LSI (Language Studies International), Berkeley, CA

Come and join us for a day of insight, discovery and conquering your fear/frustrations of a bad fit. This class will provide you tricks of the trade for picking the right fabric (or making fabric you picked the "right fabric"), realistically accessing what you need this garment to do, and fitting this bodice to your perfect form.

If getting a great fit on your costumes repeatedly eludes you, then this class will have the answers you are looking for! Bring your corset and a muslin mock up, and learn how to get the fit that makes people say “You look like you stepped out of a fashion plate!” Learn what professional costumers look for in fit, and how to apply those techniques to your own garments

We will be focusing on fitted bodices from the Elizabethan era to the 19-teens. Structured, fitted basic bodices will be the focus. Please, no loose or drapey garments.
